My New Apartment!

I now feel like I am no longer in limbo.  Recently I was accepted as a renter for an apartment.  This was an amazing Christmas gift!  After spending more than 3 months looking for a place, the right one just happened!  Its cute and cozy and the landlord is a wonderful lady.

One great feature is its only a 10 minute walk from where my son and I were living with my good friend Ruth and her family.  I will miss her and the kiddies though. I like to be around people so, its great that we are so close by!  I am forever grateful for her generosity and kindness. Not many people (especially such a large family) would open their home to share it 2 more people and even give them their own bedrooms to sleep in!  The kids even gave up a room and crowded into a room together to open up a bedroom for my son.

I now feel like a permanent resident of the Waterloo region and no longer feel like a tourist or a visitor!

Wordless Wednesday!!

My niece Brooke, is totally into Spiderman.  She is turning 4 on June 9th.  Her and I have been having a little bit of banter about who is going to marry him, me or her.  She's said I can marry Peter Parker but she will marry Peter (I think she doesn't quite get that they are the same person..lol) SO..I sent her this picture.

Its my face, instead of Mary Jane's. I made it on on the website faceinhole.com.  I sent it to her mom's email address and Brooke wasn't pleased.  She told me that I couldn't marry him because she was.  So, to make her happy, I made her another picture.

I got to hear everything because we were on the telephone when she got the pictures!  It took her a minute to realize it was her face.  She gasped and said, "Is that me? When Im a grown up?" and her mother told her "yes!"  Then she says, "I look great!"  So, she thinks that when she grows up, she is going to marry Spiderman!  Oh, to be 4 again! By the way, she told me I get to marry the Green Goblin, then changed her mind.  I can marry Harry.  Peter's best friend.  Lucky me!

April Photoaday Challenge Day 24!! A Picture and a Story!!

So, today's challenge was to post a picture of something I'm grateful for. I actually had to combine 3 pics into 1 to make it 1 picture because its a combination of a few things that I am grateful for.  

The upper left corner of my picture is my computer.  My wonderful neighbour Norah, was upgrading to another computer and this puppy still had life in it.  I was without a computer of my own at the time, and Norah thought of me when she was doing her switch!  I am grateful to Norah for thinking of me.  This was 2 years ago and this computer is still running wonderfully!  

The upper right hand corner of my picture is the modem and D-link that connects me to the outside world. It  is a very important part of the bottom left corner of my picture, which is a shot of my Facebook Profile.  I live so far away from friends and family that aren't here where I live, that I would otherwise have not been able to find, or have been able to have contact with.  Although I have complained about all the changes that Facebook has made since I joined December 12, 2006, I'm not going to do that anymore.  It's a free service after all, so why should I complain.  Without it, I wouldn't have been able to connect with so many people from all around that I have known and still know. 

So, to sum up what my picture is about, I would say, that I'm grateful for the technology that allows me to be connected to the people I love and the new friends I've made and want to get to know better!
